Usually we show you 1 bike and 1 story, but how about a BMW Triple Combo by Moto Adonis.
Triple BMW with a twin boxer engine, what a wonderful combination! The BMW R75/5 is the oldest with 44 years it still triumphs against his younger brothers. With his beautiful black glow and nicely chaped cilinderheads he stands tall. This classic came to our shop as a barnfind and after various modifications and refurbishment he could get back to the lovely tours.
Still, he must take it in front of his younger brothers. The speed and agility of this old man don’t come near the BMW R80. The R80 is a former government motorcycle with a 1000 cc engine and the BMW R100RS was a stock bike from the 80s.
The BMW R80 is a raw bratbike with a tough high custom-made rear frame, seat, steering wheel and firm offroad handlebar and ofcourse a beautiful stock blue paintjob on the tank. The rear lights are modified carriage from 1960. The discussed statement ” Less is more ‘is fully applicable to this bike. Partly because this bike modified for a very small amount and still transformed into a showpiece.
By contrast, the BMW R100RS which was the racingbike of BMW back in the 80s, is equipped with a lot of extra options, thick knobbly tires, new lightweight fenders, lightweight battery, engine guards, etc. etc. This scrambler is made based on the customer requirements, he was looking for a tough raw bike that is fully equipped with the essentials for a great dirt track. In addition, this bike certainly needs to hold its own in the streets of Amsterdam.
These BMWs have left the building shortly and Moto Adonis has started on the 4th edition! More soon.
